Industry Acquisitions News Roundup

News happens when you aren’t looking, and most people aren’t looking during the holiday season. You’ve got end-of-year numbers to worry about, new-year plans to nail down and family events to avoid, so of course huge industry happenings will take place at the same time. Here are some of the major acquisitions and alliances from the past two months.

St. Regis Crystal to Acquire R.S. Owens – First announced in mid-November, the Chicago-based manufacturer of the Academy Awards statues was acquired by St. Regis Crystal on December 17.

National Pen Company Acquired by Lincolnshire Management – The management firm acquired San Deigo’s National Pen Company from investment bank Harris Williams & Co.

Camsing Global, Beacon Promotions and Senator Pen – Over the course of three days, supplier Camsing Global announced a new writing instrument line, then ended its distribution deal with German manufacturer SENATOR Pen, which subsequently announced an exclusive partnership with Beacon Promotions.

Promo Marketing and Trade Only Announce Partnership – In December we announced an alliance with Trade Only that gives our users access to Trade Only’s software solutions. PromoMatting by Americo Announces Acquisition of Shamrock Matting – Americo Manufacturing acquired fellow mat producer Shamrock Matting. Mike Patrick, president of Shamrock Matting, joined PromoMatting as national sales manager.

Broder Bros. Co. Announces Acquisition of Imprints Wholesale – In addition to acquiring the 25-year-old apparel business, the following week saw Broder Bros. announce an exclusive distribution deal with Russell Athletic.

Geiger Acquires McWeeney Marketing Group – The top 50 promotional products distributor acquired McWeeney Marketing Group of Orange, Conn., effective January 1.
